An odd character type people often cast when using Louie in Fanfics. No matter what happens, Louie will always be a complete and incompetent moron or be the oddest member of the gang. It is possible people cast him as this because of the Ship's constent berating of him as 'incompetent', and the fact he often cooks and eats the local wild life, sometimes with rather odd results.
